The project compromised of the conversion of three Victorian buildings dating back to the 1890’s into one modern workspace.
Virtus were appointed by Howard De Walden to carry out the large scale project in the heart of central London. The project compromised of the conversion of three Victorian buildings dating back to the 1890’s which has in turn proved challenging. An enormous 600 tonnes of demolition and strip out waste has been removed to bring the three buildings back to their core shell.
The desired purpose for the once residential period properties is to be converted into commercial space. A huge task internally is the installation of a new lift shaft which required the demolition of a large section of the party wall between no.51 and 52, leaving this area completely exposed.
The jewel in the crown is the construction and installation of a white concrete feature staircase whilst the internal strip out continues which will make this project one of the most technically challenging of its kind.
