A logistically challenging residential project in Shoreditch, but one the whole project team can be proud of!

Virtus were requested to become involved in the project after it had been partially completed. Works included the reconfiguration of the 5th and 6th floors with a new mansard steel frame, new lift installation and smoke shaft and the creation of 16 no apartments.
Intelligent use of the existing floor area was used to create a bright and spacious apartments a short distance for the City of London. The 5th and 6th floors especially entertaining impressive views of the London skyline. Flats were all installed with modern kitchen and bath/shower rooms, the upper floors also incorporating full underfloor heating systems.
Principal issues of the works were of a logistical nature. The location of the building in a busy one way street, set on a t junction near Old Street meant that delivery and waste clearance had to be carefully coordinated to ensure we did not impact on the day to day activities in the local area. This included the provision of road closures at set weekends to undertake crane lifts. Furthermore, the only access to all floors was via single staircase with no dedicated storage area on site meant that material deliveries had to adhere to a strict just in time policy.
