This Art Deco reception area is truly a one off .
We were appointed to carry out refurbishment works at Dorset House, a Garde II listed building in the heart of Marylebone.
The works consisted of new electrical services providing updated power and scene set lights throughout entire job, new services installed within new floor trunking, new vestibule area with panelling, flooring, lighting and ceiling (maintaining existing coving with extensive repairs & recasting) and new decorations, lights, art deco reception desk, access ramps, bespoke handrails and carpets.
Given the age of the building, great care and consideration was taken, specifically with the existing hand-crafted historic walls and wood work.
The building was operational 24 hours a day with 140 flats in the building, posing some unique issues in regards to keeping our working area segregated and maintaining access through corridors and escapes clear at all time. Thanks to the project team’s exemplary organisation this was carefully policed.
