Virtus were appointed to undertake the installation of a new high spec shower block, supported by entirely new plant / services solution.
The shower block comprised of 11 sleek modern showers, a DDA shower/WC room and plant room within the redundant Ice Bank at the lower basement level of 1 Victoria Street.
The works consisted of the excavation and installation of below ground drainage system, infill perimeter of subfloor to bring levels up to existing plinth using RAF, the forming of shower cubicles in metal stud/plasterboard partitioning, Installation of new sanitaryware, shower screens, wall and floor tiling, mirrors, benches and accessories.
New manifestation signage and branding throughout really brought the whole project together and gave it a contemporary feel.

Operating in a sensitive government building with enhanced security procedures, this project presented its own unique challenges such as, maximising ceiling heights whilst accommodating existing services and integrating existing plant bases in floor build up and designing drainage solution to overcome structural obstructions below ground. These were overcome through exemplary organisation and communication within the professional team.
