“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts.”
-William Shakespeare

Virtus were selected by The Shakespeare’s Globe team to undertake the remodelling of the foyer and the construction of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.
The project is of enormous historical importance being the first theatre of this kind to be built in around 400 years using traditional techniques throughout. The project also entails the closing down and total remodelling of the main foyer to accommodate the additional guests with the new theatre, acoustic separation was required between the Foyer and Theatre which necessitated the installation of specialist acoustic ceilings and wall panelling.
The theatre is located on the Southbank amidst residential units, restaurants, bars, museums etc. and experiences enormous levels of tourist footfall. Throughout the project we were extremely careful to minimise the impact of our activities on any stakeholders to the project.
