Domus retail fit-out works at 55 Great Sutton Street created a new flagship Clerkenwell showroom for the leading interiors brand. Following Virtus’ successful refurbishment of the wider building, Domus selected the ground-floor retail unit as its new home and appointed Virtus to deliver the project.

During visits to the property, Domus had already seen the quality of Virtus’ construction and finished work. Consequently, this existing relationship provided a strong foundation for the subsequent retail project.

Flagship Retail Fit-Out

The project transformed the ground-floor unit into a new flagship retail environment for Domus. As the space formed part of the recently refurbished 55 Great Sutton Street, Virtus could draw on its existing knowledge of the building throughout the works.

This familiarity supported efficient planning and coordination from the outset. Moreover, it allowed the team to focus on delivering the new showroom while maintaining the quality established during the wider building refurbishment.

Domus Retail Fit-Out and Project Delivery

Throughout the Domus retail fit-out, Virtus carefully managed the construction programme to maintain progress and protect the client’s opening requirements.

Our team identified potential risks early and incorporated appropriate measures into the programme. As a result, the works progressed efficiently and remained ahead of schedule.

Close communication between the project team also supported the delivery process. Furthermore, the collaborative approach allowed key decisions to progress efficiently as the new retail environment took shape.

The project represented a natural continuation of Virtus’ work at 55 Great Sutton Street. Having delivered the wider refurbishment, our team understood the building and could apply that knowledge to the new ground-floor retail space.

Careful planning remained central to the project. Rather than simply focusing on the completion date, Virtus used proactive programme management and risk mitigation to maintain momentum throughout the works.

Virtus completed the Domus retail fit-out ahead of programme, allowing the client to move into its new Clerkenwell home and begin trading earlier than planned.
