The London recording studio fit-out transformed six floors of existing office space at Soundtree Studios in Chapel Place. The project created four professional recording studios alongside control rooms, offices, back-of-house facilities and dedicated artist breakout areas.
Specialist London Recording Studio Fit-Out
The specialist acoustic requirements shaped the construction approach from the outset. In particular, we created each recording studio using a ‘box-in-box’ construction method in line with the acoustician’s design.
This method separated the studio floors, walls and ceilings from the existing building structure. As a result, the design minimised the transfer of external noise and vibration. This approach helped create the precise acoustic conditions required for professional recording.
Acoustic Recording Studio Construction
Throughout the studios, timber flooring combines with fabric-covered acoustic panelling across the walls and ceilings. Meanwhile, specialist acoustic door sets and glazing maintain separation between the recording and control spaces.
The glazing also allows natural light from the building’s existing windows to travel through the interior. Therefore, the design achieves the required acoustic performance without creating enclosed or overly dark studio environments.
Building Services for the Recording Studio Fit-Out
We integrated air conditioning, ventilation, power and lighting throughout the scheme. Crucially, the building services complement the acoustic design while providing a comfortable working environment.
Moreover, the coordinated services help support artists, producers and staff during long recording sessions. The result combines technical performance with day-to-day comfort and usability.
Bespoke Recording Studios and Control Rooms
The client’s operational requirements and the existing building informed the bespoke design. Across two floors, we delivered four independent recording studios, each with its own adjoining control room.
In addition, the second floor provides general support offices and back-of-house facilities. The fifth floor provides a dedicated breakout area, giving artists a comfortable place to relax away from the recording environment.
Overall, the London recording studio fit-out brings together specialist acoustic construction, carefully coordinated building services and bespoke interior finishes. The completed spaces provide Soundtree Studios with a professional creative environment specifically designed around recording, production and collaboration.
