After the successful completion of the first site in Fitzrovia, Virtus were delighted to be selected once again by Rowbots to carry out the refurbishment and fit out of site two in the Broadgate Quarter, EC2, close to Liverpool Street station.

This gym studio fit-out project for Rowbots required a highly technical construction approach to meet strict acoustic performance standards while creating a premium fitness environment. Working alongside Sarah Mannerings Design Studio and the Rowbots team, Virtus delivered a bespoke studio that combines specialist construction techniques, high-quality finishes and state-of-the-art facilities.

Gym Studio Fit-Out with Advanced Acoustic Performance

A key requirement of this gym studio fit-out was the delivery of exceptional acoustic performance throughout the studio space. To achieve this, Virtus constructed the main fitness studio using a combination of blockwork and specialist acoustic partition systems.

In addition, the team installed the structure on an acoustic floating concrete slab supported by rubber isolation mounts. This approach created a true “box-in-box” construction, which significantly reduced sound transmission and vibration throughout the building.

Furthermore, we carefully coordinated the acoustic detailing with the lighting design and interior finishes to ensure technical performance did not compromise the overall user experience.

Specialist Fitness Studio Construction

As part of the gym studio fit-out, Virtus installed new electrical, mechanical, public health and fire safety services throughout the facility. These upgrades support both the operational requirements of the studio and the comfort of its members.

Moreover, we incorporated a range of bespoke finishes to create a premium fitness environment. The works included custom joinery, specialist tiling, high-quality flooring finishes and contemporary sanitaryware.

Consequently, the completed facility delivers a seamless balance between functionality, durability and design quality.

State-of-the-Art Changing Facilities

Alongside the studio space, Virtus delivered a series of modern changing facilities designed to enhance the customer experience. Bespoke joinery and carefully selected finishes help create a welcoming environment, while robust materials ensure long-term performance in a high-use setting.

Furthermore, the changing areas complement the wider design concept and contribute to the premium feel of the facility.

Delivering a Successful Gym Studio Fit-Out

The project progressed smoothly from the outset thanks to strong collaboration between the client, design team and project stakeholders. As a result, Virtus completed the works within the agreed budget and programme.

Most importantly, the finished facility successfully meets the client’s acoustic, operational and aesthetic requirements. From the specialist box-in-box studio construction to the bespoke changing areas, every element contributes to a high-performing fitness environment.
