this project was a great example of championing the retention and re-use of materials. The project involved reusing existing materials that were already on site including; 250 m2 plasterboard, 3 no. glazed partitions, 500m2 carpet tiles, doors and various light fittings.

This project entailed of a CAT B fit out on the third floor of 33 Glasshouse Street, with a 11-week programme we transformed this floor to a modern office space ready for the client, Aurelius.
In line with our Circular Economy Policy, this project was a great example of championing the retention and re-use of materials. The project involved reusing existing materials that were already on site including; 250 m2 plasterboard, 3no. glazed partitions, 500m2 carpet tiles, doors and various light fittings. In line with the project’s design, suitable materials were either retained or carefully disassembled, ready for relocation. As a result, we estimate an embodied carbon saving of around 20kgCo2e when compared with installing all new materials. Additionally, such circular practices will have far reaching benefits for our natural environment, from avoidance of raw material extraction and transport emissions.
Although many materials were reused, we also installed new bespoke joinery such as a reception desk and shelving in the reception area, kitchen island and bench seating in the breakout area and storage in the private offices, this paired with the new feature lighting and underfloor air conditioning system, created a comfortable and stylish office environment.
