Virtus delivered a Pall Mall reception refurbishment at 100 Pall Mall, in the heart of St James’s. The project transformed the reception, lift lobby and staircase to create an enhanced arrival experience. Through exceptional finishes, considered detailing and feature lighting, we introduced a strong sense of quality throughout the space.

Creating a Luxury Arrival Experience

From the outset, the project required careful planning. The reception needed to remain fully operational throughout the refurbishment. Therefore, our team developed a strategy that allowed tenants to continue using the building safely.

We introduced a protected access tunnel through the reception to maintain a clear route for entrance and egress. Meanwhile, enclosed working areas on either side allowed our team to continue the refurbishment safely. We also created protected working zones at ceiling level.

Reception Refurbishment in an Occupied Building

Working within a live reception presented additional logistical challenges. As a result, our team carefully phased the works to minimise disruption to building tenants and visitors.

In addition, we scheduled selected activities outside normal working hours. This approach allowed us to complete key elements efficiently while maintaining consistent finishes throughout the reception, lift lobby and staircase.

Careful coordination also helped maintain a professional arrival experience during construction. Consequently, tenants could continue accessing the building while our team progressed the transformation around them.

Art Deco-Inspired Interior

The completed Pall Mall reception refurbishment creates a sophisticated welcome appropriate for this prestigious St James’s address. The design draws inspiration from Art Deco interiors, using deep colours, bright contrasts and high-quality finishes to create a distinctive identity.

Furthermore, carefully considered lighting complements the finishes and highlights the architectural details throughout the space. The refreshed reception, lift lobby and staircase now work together to create a cohesive arrival experience.

Ultimately, the project demonstrates how careful planning can deliver a high-quality refurbishment within an occupied commercial building. The finished space combines functionality with a strong design identity, creating a memorable welcome at 100 Pall Mall.
